My first review is going to be on the Pledge Pet Hair Fabric Sweeper, seen here:
If you're a pet owner, you know how difficult it is to keep dog/cat fur in check. I have a dark brown sofa and loveseat and three cats who LOVE to sit on them. The one cat is white and leaves a TON of fur behind when she leaves. I have some of those fabric mits that you can get in any pet store or discount store that I use all of the time for a quick pick up, but when I saw the advertisement on TV for this wonderous product, I had to have it! The commercial shows a woman trapped in a glass room with a white sofa. Then a million (OK, maybe just a couple of dozen) black cats are put in this room! For anyone out there who freaks out like I do at the prospect of having all of that pet hair on your furniture, especially a WHITE sofa, you had to keep watching to see what happened. After sweeping the sweeper over the sofa (in quick back-and-forth movements, as directed), that sofa was spotless, or should I say hairless!! Needless to say, I HAD to have it!
My first problem with this product is that it's a little pricey for a disposable sweeper. You'll probably get quite a few uses out of it, but the mits I have work just as well and are washable. You must use this product as stated on the box and above. It picks up loose fur, but if there is any little hair that is even just a tiny bit stuck in the fabric, the sweeper will NOT pick it up. It's plastic housing is flimsy and slips out of grasp easily. My sofa was NOT pet hair free after using this. I had to break out the tape and vacuum cleaner. I really don't believe that this product is worth buying.
One plus--it DID leave very pretty "tracks" on my sofa giving it that just vacuumed look!
